On the weekend of Nov 11-12, we are holding a unique workshop on Soap-making which is part of the Craft of Perfumery.
Soap-making is a fantastic hands-on workshop where you learn how to make your own (incredible) soap using all natural ingredients such as almond oil, castor oil, shea butter, coconut oil, palm oil and olive oil scented with pure essential oils: lavender, grapefruit, mint and others. When you complete the workshop you will be able to make your own soap using the cold process method, and will take home bars of soap of your own creation.
The workshop will include an introduction to the Craft of Perfumery and we will learn and apply its three pillars: Permanence, Tone, and Care. We will also delve into the importance of smell as a sense that can be developed to enrich our lives.
The workshop is being led by Amanuel Zellelow, an expert in the art of making soap and a chemist, with assistance by Nicole Myers who practices the Craft of Perfumery and its connection to internal energy.
We also include time for meditation and reflection and time to enjoy nature. The Hudson Valley Park is a gorgeous 5-acre site with a retreat center, an open meadow, winding paths in the forest, stream and waterfall, a sacred fountain, workshop building and more. www.hudsonvalleypark.org
This workshop will include a one-night stay at the Hudson Valley Park.
