Kick into gear for Spiritual Camping

Friday, July 21 –  Sunday July 23

Begins at 4pm Friday until Sunday 5pm.  Hours are flexible when you arrive and depart.

This is a special weekend organized twice a year.  It combines the relaxed and fun activities of camping (some prefer to stay indoors at retreat center) and being in nature with small workshops on different aspects of spirituality inspired by Silo’s Message.

This weekend will also feature a workshop on Soap-making which is part of the centuries old Craft of Perfumery.  It will be conducted by Amanuel Zellelow, an expert in the art of making soap.  This is a fantastic hands-on workshop which gives you the opportunity to make your own (incredible) soap with essential oils.  READ MORE HERE

This will be our 3rd year and it’s always full of surprises and inspiring experiences.

If you are:

– love spending time in nature

There will be plenty of time to enjoy nature. The Hudson Valley Park is a gorgeous 5-acre site with a retreat center, an open meadow, winding paths in the forest, stream and waterfall, a sacred fountain, workshop building and more.  www.hudsonvalleypark.org

Seasonal Gatherings take place every solstice and equinox and are dedicated to celebrating the change of seasons. These events are social and spiritual with shared meals, ceremonies, hiking and discussions.  A perfect time to take a pause and enjoy the best of all worlds: nature, spirituality, meditation and meeting like-minded people.

*The Healing of Suffering was delivered in the heights of the Andean Mountains by Silo in Argentina on May 4, 1969 in spite of the dictatorship that tried to suppress it.  48 years later, it is even more relevant.  It is Silo’s first public expression of his ideas. In poetic language, he explains that the most important knowledge for living (“true wisdom”) is not the same as the knowledge found in books but is a question of inner experience. The most important knowledge for living is related to comprehending suffering and how to surpass it.  The talk went on to inspire millions of people over the years and launched a worldwide movement to Humanize the Earth and build communities of Silo’s Message.

Food: Snacks and refreshments will be served at noon and a vegetarian friendly BBQ will be held at the end of the day.

Donation: $25 to cover the food (light lunch, refreshments and BBQ) and park usage.
